Riding Along in my automobile, baby beside me. Three things are sure in life: taxes, death, and a long road trip with the kids being even better than one on one by yourself! Driving across the United States or Australia or anywhere you’d like to go is just plain cool on your personal. You get to see new places, meet new people and enjoy the experience of being you. You’re not sitting in a driver’s seat staring at the dashboard trying to take it all in, nor do you have a worried family member at the wheel making you nervous with worries about how safe it is to drive, or how long the trip will be, or which road you should take, etc.
This is what I love about: “somewhere along the way” when riding along in my automobile song lyrics. The words give me a feeling of comfort knowing that everything is going to be OK as I am traveling on the open highway with my loved ones. These lyrics are perfect for driving as well as being perfect for enjoying the experience of traveling. When I am driving I am thinking of my baby beside me in the passenger seat enjoying the ride, not worrying about being in an accident or anything like that. It is just fun to me.
“Cruisin’ And Playin’ The Radio” by Old timer’s rock band starts with the words”: Driving along in my automobile, baby beside me. She has something she wants to tell you. It’s nice to meet you, isn’t it.” That is probably one of the most famous lines from a song ever written and “Cruisin’ And Playin’ The Radio” is sung by the guys from The Yardbirds along with others, and is probably the reason for the timelessness of this classic.
This song also goes on to say: “I had a ball, I had a party, I had a laugh and I’m livin’ in the moment”. Then again, don’t we all have a sense of wonder when we pass a place that we had once visited? My fascination with this song probably started long ago and somewhere along the way I found myself riding along in my car with “Cruisin’ and Playin’ The Radio” blasting out of every car stereo in my possession. To this day when I listen to this song and have my baby beside me in the passenger seat, the memories of the last time I went on that trip with my dad, long ago in a convertible are engraved deeply into my brain.
A good friend of mine is a single mother of six children: and every morning at six thirty am she would take her children out for a wonderful day of riding along in my automobile. Now some people may not have a problem with this whatsoever, but to my friend it sounded like such a waste of time and there were some issues that came up that day that made her rather angry. One thing she said was that the kids did not want to sit in the passenger seat because they always wanted to stand out on the road. This caused her to be rather upset because she did not feel safe enough to drive that day knowing that her son might run out of fuel right away and hopefully run her over.
This car lyrics freaked her out: to no end and she immediately ordered us to pull over and get out of the car. At the same time, my other two kids tried to convince her that the song was not bad and that she should not worry about it. Needless to say, she changed her mind and now rides along in my car with the radio on playing “Don’t Take Me Riding in My Car.” The rest is history folks and I’m sure it will not be the last time either.
